PROCEDURES FOR THE
CLASSROOM
Procedures are necessary for
us to be able to learn. They allow us to
function in an organized manner. In life
we follow procedures in everything we do.
For instance, you must follow procedures when you are driving at an
intersection. The light tells which car
to go or stop. Same applies to your cell
phone. You have to follow the procedures
to call or message someone.
Enter the classroom
- Quietly and find your seat before the
tardy bell rings.
- Place all items necessary for class on desk.
If you are tardy
- Each occurrence will be documented.
- Per the JCHS
Student Handbook, after three misconducts the student will be referred
to an administrator.
After the bell rings
- Begin bellwork on the TV, board or overhead.
Notebook
- All assignments should be written on the
assignment sheet daily.
- As work is completed place it in the notebook in
the order of the assignment sheet.
- Notebooks will be checked randomly.
- Keeping your notebook current is part of your
grade.
Headings on papers
- Name and date should be written in the upper
right hand corner of all bellwork, assignments, labs, and tests.
If you are absent
- It is your responsibility to get the
missed work from the 'missed work' folder on the day you return.
- If you know you are going to be out such as a
field trip, you may get the assignments prior to missing class.
- Work not turned in by the 3rd day of your return to class will result
in a zero.
Participation
- You are encouraged to participate in bellwork, discussions,
labs, and lecture.
- Participation counts as 3% of your final grade.
In the lab
- Please follow the safety policies handed out
separately anytime you are in the laboratory.
Gateway
- Test score counts 15% of your 2nd
nine weeks grade.
Fees
- Supplies have to be replenished and restocked as
used. A $10.00 fee is collected for
each student for lab supplies.
Grades
- 65%
classwork, homework, and labs
- 17% notebook and chapter tests
- 15 % tests – 9 weeks exam (1st nine
weeks) and Gateway (2nd nine weeks)
