CLASSROOM and LABORATORY RULES

Rules are everywhere in life.  They exist to set limits for us.  Rules are a necessary part of life as is self-discipline.  The plan below allows for the student to manage his/her own behavior.

  1. The student will follow the directions the first time they are given.
  2. Students will not ask to leave class unless it is an emergency.  Hall passes will not be given until the last 10 minutes of class.
  3. The class will be respectful of each other.  Talking while others are speaking, harassing others, and making fun of others will not be tolerated.
  4. Horse play will not be tolerated (including throwing objects).
  5. Profanity will not be allowed in the classroom.

If You Choose to Break a Rule

1st occurrence – Warning, name and violation recorded
2nd occurrence – Denial of break
3rd occurrence – Denial of break for 2 days and behavior report 1 completed
4th occurrence – Completion of behavior report 2 and parents contacted
5th occurrence – Administrative referral

Because I care about each for you, I will not tolerate anyone who interferes with someone else who is trying to learn.  If someone severely disrupts the class, I will immediately impose the severest penalty: referral to an administrator and call to the parent (see JCHS Student Handbook)

Rewards will be given to reinforce appropriate behavior.
