Students representing each of the elementary schools in Jefferson County participated in the Jefferson County Elementary Science Fair.  Students were treated to a Pizza Party by Appalachian Electric Cooperative.    Mr. Bill Nolen, Interim Director of Schools and Ms. Sherry Finchum, Director of Accountability & Curriculum PreK-5 presented certificates to students and announced the awards.

The winning projects were:

First Place - Reuse or Not to Reuse Water Bottles by Brooke, White Pine School. 

Second Place - What Does Yeast Eat? by Dallas, Dandridge Elementary School. 

Third Place - Effects of radiation and heat on seeds. by Katie Jo, Piedmont Elementary School. 

Environmental Award - Gas for the Mileage by Madison, Rush Strong School.

Honorable Mention - The Chemistry of Fruit by Link, Dandridge Elementary School. 

Honorable Mention - Household Mordants Effect on Dying with Fruits and Vegetables, by Fiona,  Jefferson Elementary School.

 

Certificates of Appreciation for support and assistance with science fair were presented to Appalachian Electric Cooperative and
Dandridge Elementary School.
