INSTRUCTIONAL GOALS |
In this lesson students will be able to illustrate, describe, and name the phases of the moon. Students will also be able to tell why sometimes we cannot see the moon in the night sky and why the moon appears to change shape. Students will be able to tell what creates the light of the moon. |

FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT |
Students will have to complete a worksheet where they have to illustrate, name, and describe the phases of the moon. Students will also have to tell how many days it takes to complete each phase of the moon on the worksheet. |

LESSON ORGANIZATION |
Opening the Lesson:
|
Teacher will introduce the Web Quest to students. Teacher will also outline expectations and directions to complete the task. Teacher will informally ask students for prior knowledge about the moon and its phases. |

|
Developing the Lesson:
|
Students will be allowed time to explore the web sites and to find information for completing the evaluation worksheet. |

|
Closing the Lesson:
|
Teacher will observe students’ gain in knowledge about the moon and its phases. Teacher will informally ask students to tell things they have learned and the teacher will re-ask specific questions which students might have had misconception about in the opening lesson. |
