LESSON OVERVIEW

Students will learn how we get our seasons by viewing Internet links and a United Streaming video.  They will learn the differences between revolution and rotation and how they affect our seasons and weather.  Students will view web sites that demonstrate the rotation and revolution of the earth and how we get seasons.  They will take a quiz from the Internet   Students will visit sites that demonstrate rotation, revolution, and the orbit of planets and moons in our solar system. This includes information about day/night cycles, rotational periods, constellations, moon phases, and telling time.

INSTRUCTIONAL GOALS

Students will learn the difference between rotation and revolutions of the earth and where we get the seasons.

Demonstrate how the earth rotates and revolves.

FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT

Students will write a summary explaining how the earth rotates around the sun.  They should include details about the seasons. Students will also be able to pass the Science Unit Test with a 75% or better.
