Here is a listing of items that are sent home daily, weekly, or
monthly. Please look for each of these and review them with your
child.
Class Website (Daily)
Our class website is an excellent resource for parents. Make our
class site your homepage during the upcoming school year. (http://classroom.jc-schools.net/collinsj)
Daily Assignments (Daily)
Check the Daily Assignments link on our classroom website
each day after 4:30 p.m. for a listing of assignments completed in
class each day.
If an assignment
was not finished at school, it should be completed as homework.
Please discuss each assignment with your child to determine if it
should be finished at home. Ample time is given to complete each
assignment at school but from time to time an assignment may need to
be completed as homework. Unfinished class work is due by 8:30 a.m.
the following school day.
Assignment Planner (Daily)
Daily assignments are recorded on the planner board for each child
to copy in his/her planner. The planner should be brought home each
night for parents to review and sign. The planner is also used to
communicate with parents if needed. You may find a teacher note
from time to time and parents are encouraged to use the planner as a
form of communication between home and school.
The planner is checked each day and graded on Monday. Each day is
worth twenty points. Ten points for recording assignments and ten
points for a parent signature. Grades for the planner are recorded
in various subjects. The planner grade is an easy 100!
Classroom Newsletter (Weekly)
Our classroom newsletter is updated and posted weekly on our class
website.
Graded and Checked Papers (Weekly)
Graded and checked papers are sent home each Monday. Students are
responsible for emptying their mailbox and taking papers home for
parents to review. In the case of a Monday holiday, papers are sent
the next school day.
Plan of Action (Monthly)
The Plan of Action is a monthly curriculum calendar. It is
sent home on the first Monday of each month. The calendar includes
daily and weekly assignments, test dates, project due dates, and
subject overviews. It is recommended that the calendar be posted at
home for daily reference. The Plan of Action is also posted
on our class website for printing.
Mid-Term Grade Report (Quarterly)
Parents will be provided a Mid-Term Grade Report. Dates for
this report will be posted on the monthly Plan of Action.

Card (Quarterly)
