Page
60 (passed out 3/11) and page 62 (passed out 3/12) are past due at this
point. Page 60 will be returned on Wednesday, March 31.
After that time, no more of those assignments will be accepted.
Page 62 will be returned on Thursday, April 1st. No more of
that assignment will be accepted after that.
Please remember the importance of getting assignments in on time.
Once graded assignments are passed back out to students, no more
of that assignment will be accepted, even with a good excuse! As
you can certainly understand, doing so would create a very good
opportunity to cheat.
Students are expected to do a first person presentation before grades
are concluded this fourth and final nine weeks. Some students
have already completed their presentations.
Here are the guidelines:
First Person Presentations
1) Choose a person
from one of the countries listed below. They are shown in the
order in which we will study them.
A Person may be from the past or present; involved in government, military, entertainment, arts, sports, religion, etc., but does not have to be famous.
Research some important facts about the person.
Turn that information into a "brag" or a "whine" where you are bragging
(in first person) about what a great person you are or whining about
why you should be more famous than you are.
Bring a "token" prop or wear a "token" costume. Do
not spend any money on it. Do not rent or buy anything.
This is an opportunity for creativity.
It is not necessary to memorize your presentation, but you
should not have to read everything either. Maybe have some notes
you can put on the podium and glance over to see them.
You may work with one or more partners, but each person must have a
token costume or prop and be actively participating in the
presentation. Your presentation should last about two minutes.
However, if more than one person is involved, it should last
longer (3-4 minutes for two people).
