Classroom Activities and Instruction
**How to make the Indian dwelling:
Materials:
Construction Paper
Felt
Dowel Rods
cardboard
Directions:
Glue botton of three dowel rods in a triangle shape onto cardboard; then, bring the three dowel rods together and glue at top. Cover with felt.  Decorate the felt with construction paper cut outs or paint.  Fold back a flap and glue.  Add figures and animals for a more artistic touch.
**How to Make Paper Plate Indian
Materials:
Zoo pals plates
paint/crayons
Google eyes (larger size would be best)
Feathers
Construction paper
Directions:
Paint or color the Indian plate brown.  Outline in black the edges.  Make fingers with black markers on additional cups of the Zoo pal plate.  Make mouth and nose.  Use pink crayon or paint for cheeks.  Glue google eyes.  Fashion a headband out of construction paper.  Glue feather.
 
**How to Make Indian Sweet Corn
Materials:
Trail Mix
Kayro syrup
Saran Wrap
Green tissue paper
Plastic bread ties
Directions:
In a large bowl, mix the trail mix and Kayro syrup together.  Then, place mixture on saran wrap and wrap into a corn cob shape.  Place green tissue paper around the corn to give the appearance of husks.  Tie with a plastic bread tie.
 

**How to Make a Black Cat

Materials:
6" paper plate
8" paper plate
Black crayon, marker, or paint
yellow construction paper for eyes
purple construction for nose
craft sticks for whiskers
beads for whiskers
extra paper plate for tail and ears

Instructions:

Color or paint (whichever method you prefer) all paper plates.  The 6" plate is the head, and the 8" plate is the body.  Glue these two plates together and what would be the neck.  Cut a tail out of the other paper plate and two triangles for the ears.  Color tail and ears black.  Glue tail and ears in desired place.  Cut ovals from yellow construction to make eyes for cat and glue where desired.  Cut a triangle from the purple construction for the nose and glue where desired.  Glue craft sticks on face for whiskers.  Glue beads on top of whiskers to give it some extra pizzazz!
