This upcoming 9 weeks, we will be learning about Our Sensational Solar
System. We have learning center filled with fun activities
for the children to complete. Check back to see what projects we
have made and any activities that the children will be participating in.
Also, if anyone has a large refrigerator box to share with my classroom,
it would be much appreciated. Please, e-mail me if you have a large
refrigerator box (or any really large box).

On December 15, 2004, the Resource students had a fun activity today
dealing with Indians because the marble bowl was filled!!
We made teepees and learned interesting facts about Indians.
We auctioned the teepees to the highest bidder, or the one willing
to give the most tokens for our projects.
We also made Indian faces out of Zoo pals plates. We learned
some Cherokee Indian language and the Cherokee Indian months of the year.
We made Indian sweet corn and compared the differences between Indian
corn and corn that we eat.

We also celebrated with Christmas with cupcakes and punch.
Mrs. Igou and I will be hosting a Thanksgiving feast for our students. The students will be eating their Thanksgiving lunch with us. The students will be served their food in a formal setting. We will work on table manners and conversational skills.
The students will be making many of the decorations for the feast.
We are currently working with the cafeteria staff on preparation for the Thanksgiving feast.
TheThanksgiving feast will be on November 18th at 11:00 in my room.

For the remainder of the nine weeks, we will be studying about Native Americans and possibly sneak in some ancient Egyptian information (they have been begging to make a pyramid!). Check back for fun activities that your child is working and fun activities for you to do at home!
