Fall Schedule for Elementary Schools

   
It's almost time for "YOU KNOW WHAT!"  Jefferson County student registration is August 6 and the first full day is August 12 Back to school supply lists are available online.  Don't forget that August 7-9, 2009 is Tennessee's Sales Tax Holiday LINK for incoming freshmen is August 11, 2009 (more info).
   

Middle school language arts teachers will meet at Jefferson Middle School in the computer labs on August 7 & 10, 8:30-11:30 a.m. Please bring a printed copy of the Scope and Sequence guide for your grade level (s).  A copy can be obtained at the links below:

At these sessions language arts district benchmark assessment instrument for middle school students will be developed based on the content that will be taught during the first nine week grading period.  Assessment resources can be found online at Internet4Classrooms.

Read 180 teachers will meet at Rush Strong School with Charlotte Bishop on August 7 and 10, 8:30-11:30 a.m.  Please bring a printed copy of the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade curriculum.  At this session Read 180 teachers will complete a curriculum correlation of the Read 180 program and the new language arts standards.  Read 180 New Teacher Training will be on August 7 and 10, 8:30-11:30 at Maury Middle School, conducted by Andie Potts.

   
The Teacher Induction Program (TIP) schedule for the 2009-2010 school year is now available.  Check out the TIP website for more information.
   
Extended Contract Information for 2009-2010 School Year

Due to budget cuts by the State Department of Education, we can only offer contracts to teachers who are Career Ladder II and III  in state approved activities.  As the budget has been cut, so have activities and programs that have been offered in the past.   No one should begin an Extended Contract program (this includes Career Ladder II and III teachers) until they receive notification.
