For the remainder of the semester, you will maintain a journal by
assuming the identity of a person living during the American Civil War.
You will maintain this character throughout your journal entries. While
keeping the historical integrity of the time period, you are free to be creative
with your entries. You will name your character and decide where they are
from within the boundaries of the character itself. Each entry will need
to be one page long. You will be graded on originality, length, and how
you tie in the war with your entries. Your journals need to be about the
topic given, but should not repeat the notes that you are given in class.
These journals require thought and need to be presented as if you were keeping a
journal of today's time. When journals are assigned, click on your
