Dear Parents,
We have started our third reading book of the year. The stories are focused on changes. The vocabulary words are getting harder. These are the words in the table below. Your child will need to know how to read these and place them in a fill in the blank sentence on the weekly test. Check out your child's test in this folder today to see if your child needs more work in this area. Some suggestions to study these words are: make flash cards and quiz them each day, write them on cards and play go fish, place a word on various places in the house and quiz them as they go by that word. You can make learning fun! We will be on the story Ruby in Her Own Time. We will be on list 14 in spelling. We are counting by twos in math and telling time to the hour. We continue to work on nouns in English. Please continue to read to and with your child each night. Our fluency rate needs to pick up. That means how fast they read a passage. Your child should be reading twenty words or more in a minute by now. Practice each night helps this.

Thank you for all the tokens of love sent in for Virginia. I have spoken to her mom and she should be back next week. We will give her the basket then. Her mom says that they are all doing as well as can be expected right now. Please remember them at this time.
Thank you for all the snacks.
Our Christmas party will be on December 18th. Please see the attached letter about the party.
Have a great weekend,
Mrs. Lewis
