Meet Mrs. Amy

Hello! My name
is Amy Hogsten. I am originally from Rutledge, TN in Grainger
Co., and am now a resident of Dandridge. I graduated from
Carson-Newman College with a BS in Early Childhood Education, grades
K-3, and received my masters in Curriculum and Instruction. I
have been teaching kindergarten at Piedmont Elementary for eight
years. I enjoy working at Piedmont and have wonderful
friends there.
I
lived in
Rutledge for 27 years and moved to Dandridge with my
parents. Unfortunately, I do not have any siblings, even though I
begged for some for a long time! I got married on
October 1, 2005 to Edward Hogsten. We were married outdoors at
The Point overlooking the lake. It was a beautiful day and
extremely hot for the beginning of the fall season. We traveled
to Cancun for our honeymoon and safely returned home a few days before
a major storm hit. Whew!! Eddie and I attend Jefferson City
Assembly of God Church where we are involved
with Sunday School, youth, and other church activities. Eddie and
I met
at Piedmont because he works with the school system, too. We
recently built a new house and just had our first child, Ezekiel
Edward. He is three months old and sooo cute! We also have
one pet. She is a Toy
Poodle and her name is Holly Berry. She was a Christmas present
and weighs about 7 pounds. She is so fun to play
with. Things are very exciting at our house, especially with a
new baby to enjoy!!
My hobbies include shopping, hanging out with my
family and friends, being involved with my church, and
scrapbooking. I love to scrapbook! I also enjoy excercising
at Curves, walking, and riding bikes with my husband. Teaching is my gift and I love being around
children. I enjoy hearing them call me "Mrs. Amy." They are
the highlight of my career and I look forward to many more years in the
world of kindergarten!
