Field Trips
Here are a few of our Field trips the Second Grade took during the 2008-2009 School Year.

Last year the whole Second Grade was invited to Farm Day at the TVA&I Fair Ground in Knoxville.   There we were introduced to may products that are made in Tennessee.

Early People in Tennessee                    Ancient Egypt                       Geology and Fossils

At the museum, the students were introduced to a model of a T-Rex that was found in Tennessee.    We learned about many different fossils that were also found in Tennessee. The students learned about the Native Americans that once roamed East Tennessee Area many years ago.  The students learned how to use the tools the Native American used, such as, grinding corn, drilling a hole in wood and drilling a hole in a rock.

                                                 Plays

Last year, the Second Grade went to Carson-Newman College and watch a play about our 16th President Abraham Lincoln.   It was a great play and the students came away from the play having an understanding about the life of Presidetn Lincoln.
