Week of August 31 - September 4
Spelling: We will be working on long vowels (CVCe). A pretest will be given on Wednesday and the final test will be given on Friday. All 20 words will be on the test.
Reading: We will be reading the story Exploring Space with an Astronaut. Our skill for this story is main idea and detail. The vocabulary for the story is astronaut, shuttle, experiment, telescope, and gravity. Please practice the skill and vocabulary with your child at home. Our take home story for the week is Touchdown at Space Camp. It will be sent home on Tuesday, please return it on Thursday.

Tues. - Read Touchdown at Space Camp. Return on Thursday.
Wed. - Read Touchdown at Space Camp. Return tomorrow.
Thurs. Read Exploring Space with an Astronaut. Test tomorrow.
English: We will be identifying the subject of a sentence.
Math: We will numbering a clock face, identifying time one hour from now and one hour ago, identifying even and odd numbers, identifying ordinal positions to the twelfth, and creating and reading a repeating pattern. A fact test will be given on Thursday and we will begin adding 2. The fact test is timed, so please practice facts each night at home. A skill test will be given on Friday.
