Kindergarten
Kindergarten students are reading a
great story called, If You Give
a Mouse a Cookie in their
first library class this week. On their second visit each student
will complete a page for our first class book titled: If You Give a
Kindergartener a Cookie.
This book will be displayed in our library book baskets for all
students to enjoy.
First Grade
First grade students are
enjoying some memory stories by the wonderful author, Tomie de
Paola. This week we will read, Tom, a story that tells
about Tomie's memories of his Irish grandfather.
Second Grade
Second graders are making
a class book this week as a follow-up to the story we read last week,
called A Fine, Fine School
by Sharon Creech. Our class book will be titled New Market Elementary is a Fine,
Fine School.
Third Grade
Third graders are enjoying
learning more about the genre of Tall Tales. We have read some
great tall tales so far and this week will enjoy Johnny Appleseed retold by
Steven Kellogg.
Fourth Grade
Fourth graders are
learning more about the Dewey Decimal System and how this great
organizational tool helps to make the nonfiction section easier to use.
Fifth Grade
Fifth graders have been
doing a research activity in class relating to the Constitutional
Convention. They are currently working on a writing activity to
tell what they have learned about the formation of our government in
1787.
