HOMEWORK POLICY

I ordinarily do not assign homework!  All subjects have work that is assigned in class and then plenty of time is allowed to complete the assignments.  If a child does not get the assignment finished in class, it then becomes homework and needs to be completed at home and returned the next day. If it is not completed then your child will have to miss recess the following day to complete it.   At times additional assignments and special projects are assigned.

Each day your child will bring home an assignment book that tells you about any homework your child has for that day.  Please check this book each night and sign it letting me know that you have seen it and discussed any assignments with your child.  If you have any questions or comments, please write them in the assignment book - I will be checking for your signature each morning.  This is very helpful in keeping parents informed about what is going on in class on a daily basis.  It is also instrumental for students to keep them organized.  Organization is a very important skill for your child to acquire for furture success in their ongoing education.

  * Math Facts must be learned!  It is an excellent idea to practice these regularly.

** Reading for 20 minutes every night is expected!  It is a proven fact that the child that reads is more successful.  Click here
for more information on literacy.   Why can't I skip my 20 minutes of reading tonight?
