Meet Ms. Pettus

Welcome to First Grade!  I am looking forward to a fun and exciting year.

I have been involved with the Jefferson County School System for 11 years in various positions.  I began as a substitute teacher and then moved on to become an aide for a child.  After doing this job, I decided to go back to school and get a teaching degree.  I graduated in 2002 from Carson Newman College.  My first teaching job was in the Library at Dandridge Elementary.  I taught in this position for a year and a half.  In the school year 2004-2005, I moved to first grade.  I am so excited!

I have two great children.  Hilary and Jeremy.  Hilary was married in May of 2004 and I now have a son-in-law, Toby. Toby works for Clayton Homes and Hilary will be attending college in the fall.  Jeremy is a freshman at Jefferson county High School.

I am an animal lover and would have a house full of pets if I could.  However, I can't have them all.  I currently have a miniture schnauzer, Winslow.
