A Little About Ms. Price . . .

I am a Jefferson County native and attended high school at Jefferson County High School.
I have lived most of my life in Dandridge, TN except for three years in Arizona.
I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Biology from Carson-Newman in 1998.
I have also attended college in Arizona at Glendale Community College and Phoenix College.
My favorite class in college was Field Botany and Microbiology.
Field Botany was a week long excursion in the mountains in the
East Tennessee area. I have always loved science and science is exploding now due to new discoveries and better
understanding of biological methods and technology.
I have two sons,
Daniel and David, that bring me tremendous joy. We enjoy
hiking and playing in the mountains in both Tennessee and North
Carolina.
Outside of science, one of
my favorite hobbies is running. Over the past couple of
years, I have developed a passion for running. I began
running to relieve stress, but it turned into something that I truly
enjoy. I currently run one 5K or 10K race each month, and I
have two half marathons. I
am training to complete a full marathon (26.2 miles). Currently I
am training for the Mayor's Midnight Race in Anchorage, Alaska. I
am looking forward to bringing back pictures and stories from the race.

One of my most interesting
jobs was being a live-in nanny for two girls
in Glendale, Arizona. I had the opportunity to work at a school
district during the day and be a nanny after school. I also
worked at a school for autistic children which was one of the best
learning opportunities I have ever experienced. This job
confirmed my decision that I wanted to be a teacher.
