Checklist for
 Second Grade

             I put my name and date at the top of my paper.

I began each sentence with a capital letter.

I put the correct mark at the end of each sentence.

 My sentence makes sense.

I begin all proper nouns with capital letters.

All of my sentences are about my topic.

I indented the first word in each paragraph.

I used describing words to make my story more interesting.

I used talking marks (quotation marks) to show the exact words my characters say in my sentences.


               I read my story quietly to myself (using my whisper phone) or to a friend.
