The National Standard:


Content Standard: The student will develop the structural and creative skills necessary to produce written language that can be read and interpreted by various audiences.
 

Goal Statement: Writing is a life-long, interactive process that is used to communicate with a variety of audiences and for a variety of purposes, adapting language conventions appropriately according to context. Writing is an act of discovery, a means of personal growth, and a tool for clarifying knowledge. To accomplish writing tasks more effectively, students need exposure to a variety of strategies, such as those included in the stages of the writing process in order to approach writing systematically.

There are two four different parts: Dictionary: Dot-to-Dot, Dictionary: Coloring book, Clip Art, Math Zone. This is a great site for younger students to explore the site during their free time. 
LessonPlansPage.com Lesson Plans Click to go to site. Gives the teacher ideas for different activities and lessons. This site has tons of lesson plans available to teachers.  This is a well organized site and is very useful.
School Zone Publishing Company Printed Material Click to go to site. A place that teachers and parents alike can order supplementary materials. You can find things about writing and many other subjects as well.  The products that are offered are really inexpensive, which is good. 
Tennessee State Project Lesson Plans Click to go to site. Helps teachers plan activities that fit the different standards.   The site includes the standards and different activities that go with it.  The site is well organized and it has some creative ideas.
Rebus Rhymes: Mother Goose and others** Reference Tool Click to go to site. Rebus Rhymes is designed for children who are learning how to read. The site has a list of many of the familiar nursery rhymes. With this page you can read some of the rhymes to the students and then have the class create a nursery rhyme together on the chalkboard.
Alpha Bits** Internet Projects Click to go to site. The purpose is to inform students about the alphabet.  There are different activities and information about the alphabet.  Great activities for learning more about the alphabet.

There are many different types of activities here from lesson plans to how to create a web page.  This is a great place to start if you are trying to find something and did not know where to start. This site has almost everything!

There are many things that you van do here from reading other students work to posting your student's work to finding a pen pal. This would be a great place to post the student's work.
World Writers Homework Help Click to go to site. To help students become better writers.  Lists a few questions that students can ask themselves about the writing assignment before turning it in.  This would be a good place for students to go before turning in a writing assignment.
