and interpreted by various audiences.
Reading: The student will develop the reading
skills necessary for word recognition, comprehension, interpretation, analysis,
evaluation, and appreciation of the written text.

This English Language Arts resource is to be used by the teacher. Description:
It provides lesson plans for all grades of Language Arts. It also
gives suggested instructional strategies, assessment strategies, and resources
to use in each lesson. Teachers could use this to develop lesson
plans for K-5 Language Arts classes. Evaluation: This resource
would be very useful in that it supplies teachers with full lessons.
K-5 Language Arts teachers, new or experienced, could use this site to
aid them in planning for their classes.

This Teachers Helping Teachers resource is to be used by teachers. Description:
It provides educational links for teachers, a guest book to network with
other teachers from around the world, and lesson plans that other teachers
contribute. This resource also provides book reviews. Teachers
coud use this resource to develop lesson plans for any K-5 language arts
classes. They could also get other educational resources to help
them with their teaching. Evaluation: This resource would
be very useful in that it provides plenty of lesson plans for teachers
to use. All teachers could use some sort of networking with other
teachers and this is a good way to do that. Teachers can use this
site to get to know other educators and benefit from others teaching ideas.

This Pro-Teacher resource is to be used by teachers and directly with students.
Description:
It provides reading programs to help students learn to read. It also
provides information on books and book reviews. It gives help on
listening and comprehension skills and provides games that encourage and
help students learn. Teachers could use the reading, writing, and
listening programs to help their students improve these skills. Teachers
could also set up centers where students can play games to enhance these
skills. Evaluation: This resource would be very useful in
that it allows students to advance in their language arts skills.
This hands-on learning tool would be useful for any Elementary Language
Arts teacher.
The EdWeb K-12 Resource Guide http://edweb.gsn.org/k12.html
This EdWeb resource is to be used by teachers and directly with students.
Description: It provides a ton of great interactive activities for
students to get involved in. It allows teachers to get involved in
listserv discussions and e-journals. Students can also enter educational
chat forums where they can talk with other students in the world or enter
discussions on current events, culture, or anything else. Teachers
could definately use this resource to enter their students in discussions
with other students from across the world. This would be neat to
set up electronic penpals between their students and students from around
the world. Evaluation: This resource would be useful in that
students are given the chance to become involved not only in technology,
but involved with other students their age from across the nation or even
world. Any teacher would benefit from using a resource like this
because their students would benefit from the opportunities that are provided
by this site. This is definately a resource that should be taken
advantage of.
Internet Teaching Tools:

Filamentality is to be used by teachers. Description: It allows
teachers to develop their own web pages without having to use an internet
server. This resource provides a step-by-step way for teachers to
develop a web-page. Teachers could use this to develop a web page
that their students could access from their home that could provide information
on class activities, homework, or even birthdays. They could also
develop web pages for their children to look at in class. Evaluation:
This resource would be useful in that teachers could get their children
involved in technology. Developing a web page for students to use
would enhance their knowledge of computers. If the web page is done
on the aspects of language arts, then students would learn and grow in
their knowledge of language arts.

Trackstar is to be used by teachers or directly with students. Description:
It allows teachers to organize and interpret Web sites into lessons.
Teachers can use diferent tracks as lesson plans and allows students to
follow through the tracks for themselves. Teachers can use Trackstar
to get ideas for lesson plans or to use someone else's. They can
also let their students follow along a specific lesson plan for themselves.
Evaluation: This resource would be useful int that teachers could
provide interesting language arts lessons for their students to learn.
The students would advantage from this resource because they would get
to experience many different types of lesson plans, not just the same old
lessons that are taught by every teacher, every year.
Reference Tools:

Information Please is to be used by teachers or directly with students.
Description: It provides an encyclopedia, dictionary, almanac, and
atlas for students to use. Teachers could use this resource to let
their students learn definitions and new vocabulary. Students could
look at different countries and locate certain places. Teachers could
show their students the flags, cities, or even profiles of different places.
Evaluation: This resource would be useful in that students could
search for words themselves. They can look up definitions and even
how to spell certain words. This resource provides a chance for the
students to explore for themselves, which should be very exciting for both
the students and the teacher.
Little Explorers http://www.enchantedlearning.com/dictionary.html
Little Explorers is to be used by teachers or directly with students. Description:
It provides a picture dictionary with links for students to search.
Clicking on the links for each word takes the students to different places
on the web. Even pre-readers can work this resource with a minimum
of help from the teacher. Older students can use Little Explorers
as a reference tool. Teachers can use this resource with any grade
that they may teach. Even Kindergarten teachers can use this to allow
their children to surf the web by searching in a picture dictionary.
Evaluation:
This resource would be useful in that, once again, the students are given
the opportunity to explore for themselves. They can search for words
and are able to surf the web by clicking on pictures for words. This
should be very exciting for early elementary teacher, because their students
can search by clicking on a picture, since they cannot read.
Software Evaluations:
SuperKids Educational Software Review http://www.superkids.com/
SuperKids is to be used by teachers. Description: It
reviews educational software. They rate each software and children
rate the software as well. They also provide an educational value
as well as a kid value. SuperKids also provides some educational
tools for teachers to use. Teachers could use this resource to review
certain educational software to make sure that it is suitable for their
students before they purchase it. They could also use this for educational
tools to use in their classroom. Evaluation: This resource
would be useful in that teachers can research software before they buy
it for their classrooms. They can find information on different types
of software.
Specialized Search Tools:

Education World is to be used by teachers. Description: It
provides links to any content area a teacher could ever need to go to.
It provides sections on contents, subjects, educators, references, and
support. This resource also offers a search tool for searching a
specific topic. This site has anything an educator could ever want.
It provides the teacher with links to many great sites that will help in
teaching in general, and even K-5 language arts. Evaluation:
This resource would be useful in that it provides teachers with a web site
to encourage and help them. It supplies ideas for teachers to use
in their classroom.
