to encourage the use of the World Wide Web as a tool for learning and teaching
and to provide some help for k-12 classroom teachers in locating and using
the resources of the internet in the classroom. The website has been
revised recently and has won several prestigious awards. For example,
the website was selected by Lightspan's Study Web as one of the best educational
resources on the web by researchers.

content resource site that is a commercial site. Its purpose is to
present students with a subset of the web that is very simple to navigate,
and contains information targeted at K- 12 levels. Each subject section,
contains a list of links to information that is understandable and interesting
to school kids. The links on the pages are updated on a weekly basis
to keep the information current.

This is a content resource site that is a commercial site maintained by
Houghton Mifflin (a textbook company). Education Place: Elementary
resources for teachers, students, and parents. Includes Reading/Language
Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies Centers, Intervention, Professional
Development, searchable activity database, educational games, and textbook
support.providing quality online educational resources!Welcome to Education
Place, the comprehensive Web site produced by Houghton Mifflin School Division
which publishes a variety of educational materials, including textbooks,
resource materials, and technology, for K-8 teachers and students. Launched
in January 1996, Education Place is the longest running Web site of any
educational publisher. With more than 18,000 pages of engaging content
to explore, visitors to award-winning Education Place can delve further
into the subjects they most enjoy to find helpful teaching resources, educational
games, discussion forums, and more. Education Place extends the School
Division's commitment to quality learning through our additional sites,
Kids' Place and Parents' Place. The Social Studies Center: social

for teachers maintained by Dr. Marty Levine, Professor Emeritus of Secondary
Education, California State University. He has gathered lesson plans
and resources from the Internet which social studies teachers will find
useful. This site has won top site awards by Planet Education, Education
Index, an excellence award by the School page, and is updated on a regular
basis.

Mr. Cassutto's Cyberlearning-World

This is an Internet Project site that can be used by teachers. This site
contains tons of useful information any middle school history/social studies
teacher. Mr. Cassutto, a 7th grade history teacher, provides a very educational
internet resource through this particular site. The site contains links
to everything from teaching with rock music to a holocaust lesson plan.
This site is a must see for all history educators. It is very well organized
and put together. Also, this internet project tool seems very credible
due to its large number of resources.
