Third Grade Discipline Procedure
The following is a summary of the discipline procedure we will be implementing in third grade, We will be using different colored crayons to track student behavior during the day.
Red Crayon- Every child starts the day with a red crayon.
Blue Crayon- Warning! Red crayon is changed to blue for the first offense (excess talking, out of seat, not being prepared for class, etc.). There is no additional punishment other than change of crayon.
Yellow Crayon- Blue crayon gets changed to yellow if the behavior continues. Yellow means 15 minutes of recess is missed.
Green Crayon- Yellow is changed to green if there is further misconduct. Green means loss of entire recess, and the student must write.
Black Crayon- Green crayon gets changed to black when the student continues to misbehave despite other crayon changes. The student must miss all of recess and write sentences. In addition, the child will be given 5 recorded demerits. An accumulation of 30 demerits will result in loss of participation in field trips, fun days, etc. for the semester.
