English/Writing/Spelling

*Each 9 weeks there will be a focus for writing that will be included in each student's Writing Portfolio.  A standard rubric will be used to evaluate each student's writing.  The focus for each grading period will come from the Unit Test - English.  The break down is as follows :
First Grading Period - Personal Narrative
Second Grading Period - Explanatory
Third Grading Period - Persuasive
Fourth Grading Period - Compare/Contrast

Daily Grammar/Writing - 80%
Tests - 20%
* Tests include Unit tests and weekly grammar tests.
