Third Grade with Mrs. A. Strange
Homework Policy

Read with your child 15 to 20 minutes per day. This includes "Ten Important Sentences" from the Scott-Foresman reading series. Read the set of sentences for the story of the week twice each night. This will improve fluency and understanding of the story.

Study the spelling words for the week. Be sure to include the word wall words in this study.

Have a math facts practice drill daily. Addition, subtraction, and multiplication facts must be memorized.
In the Saxon math program side A of the lesson is done each day in class. Side B is to be completed at home for homework each day except Friday, which is an assessment day.

Occasionally, science and social studies definitions are to be finished at home if they are not done at school. This vocabulary work is crucial for understanding the concepts in these subects.

Homework should not take more than 30 minutes after school each day
