At New Market Elementary School some of the fifth grade students participated in a very interesting project. They designed pumpkins to look like famous people to go along with reports that they wrote about the famous people! Ken Schwall from "Positively Schwall" came to New Market to report on these "Famous Pumpkins" and their creative creators! This is a project that New Market's fifth grade has participated in for several years. The fifth grade teachers at New Market are Kim Combs, Michelle Housley, and Katherine Noyes. Cindy Anderson, formerly a fifth grade teacher who now teaches first grade, orginally came up with the famous pumpkin idea!
