Meet Mrs. Howe

This is my twelfth year as a teacher at Dandridge Elementary School.  I taught fourth grade for nine years where I looped one year with my third grade students to fourth grade to make a total of ten years before I switched to teaching second grade.  They were stuck with me for two years!  Imagine that!  I am very excited about our year ahead.  This is my second year teaching second grade and I am loving every minute of it.
As most of my students already know, I am an animal lover.  I have two cats at home and three dogs.  In the classroom we have many class pets.  We have fish, rats, and two guinea pigs.  They certainly help keep the class interesting.
In my spare time you can almost always find me outside.  I like to garden (flower garden that is), hike, camp, and swim.  I like being outside in general where the air is fresh and the sun is shinning.  When I am stuck inside I like to make crafts and cross-stitch as well as read and snuggle with my cats.
I think it is important to recycle and reuse everything that is possible.  I head up the Team Green at Dandridge Elementary.  Don't let me catch you throwing something away that can be recycled or reused.  Your kids will hopefully change their habits about this for the better by the end of the year.
