SCIENCE
In
Second Grade, each of the four teachers teaches two subject areas in Science.
Students rotate to the different teachers' rooms to take part. We
try to do as many hands-on activities as we can in such a short time allotted.
Our reading series also focuses on
science stories. Ecosystems (especially that of deserts and ponds) will
be addressed. We will learn about animals that do not resemble their
parents when born and those that do. We will learn about plant and animal
life cycles. We will study the life cycles of a pumpkin, turtle, frog,
butterfly, grasshopper. We learn that babies turn out to look like their
parents when they become adults. A puppy cannot become a cat! The
effects of wind will be studied, including tornadoes. Magnetism is coming up! Back
