Growing Up
I
found as a young child that
I loved music of all kinds. I loved to sing, play instruments,
and be involved in music in my church. I was born in Knoxville
Tennessee. I began playing the trumpet in the 4th grade at my
elemenatry school, Spring Hill Elementary. As a teenager I sang
in various choirs and played in the high school
band at Holston High
School. I decided to pursue at bachelor's of church music degree from
Carson-Newman College. In 1981 I graduated from Carson-Newman
with that degree. I then moved to Louisville, Kentucky and earned
a Masters of Church Music from the Southern Baptist Theological
Seminary.
