I
have several hobbies such as
reading and golf. However, my favorite hobby is playing the 
bagpipes
with the Knoxville Pipes
and Drums. I began this about 8 years ago. I am now a Grade
3 piper and I compete reguarly at Highland Games throughout the
Southeast. I have earned several medals at these games over the
past 6 years. Also, our band competes at several
highland games throughout the Southeast United States. We play
at many events in the East Tennessee area such as the half time show at
Neyland Stadium for a University of Tennessee football game. We
played at the UT/Marshall game this year.
I have recently been upgraded to a grade 3 piper. This took several years of work and competing. It is a big honor since there are only 300 pipers in this level in the Eastern United States.
Piping is a great hobby and I have had the privelege of meeting many nice people through this venue. I play weddings, funerals, and many other events. Bagpiping has become a joy for me. I have had the privelege of traveling to Scotland twice now and I hope to go back again.
